The origami dripper is the first dripper that I got. I really like the elegance that stems for the fragility of this ceramic dripper. Also, the design allows it to accommodate two types of filter paper - kalita & Hario (nerding out a bit here). Back to topic, when I received the dripper, to my surprise, the variation in colour on ridges of the dripper (which I didn't noticed on while browsing on the web). To alleviate this unmatched expectation, I decided to recreate the dripper in 3D. Initially, I wanted to do it procedurally using curvature to add variation in colouring. However, the result that I am getting is too rigid. Hence, my first time turning to substance painter - working with UDIMs and hand painting the texture. Substance painter is fun, but painful at the same time. Reminds of Houdini for sure.
